We stayed there for 1 night with my 6yo and did not have any problems. No bedbugs or roaches, no intimidating noises from other rooms. My daughter was having meltdowns until almost 3am, screaming from top of her lungs and I was afraid to be scolded by neighbors and staff but fortunately - nobody reacted. Now, everybody who leaves angry 1 star reviews, should just count their blessings, or take a look at the room before moving in and paying, nobody makes you stay there at the gunpoint! Place is cheap as hell, and that's what brought you there, so don't act like you paid $750 for Waldorf Astoria with golden bathroom, and got the room in Imperial Inn for $60 flat, with all fees. If you are praying for the rain, be ready for the mud too. Decision is yours, there are always vacancies in $200+ hotels, so go there and let Imperial inn be. Staff, I was mostly talking to Carli, she is the best, - is great, they are Americans and you don't have to repeat yourself all the time or ask to repeat what was said by the employee. Almost every budget hotel has this problem but not that one! And for the last 2 weeks, we drove from NYC to Montana and back and stayed in multiple budget places, only very few of them had "English is a first language" front desk, and it's sad. Yes, place is in need of renovation but only cosmetically. Toilet works and was clean, so was bathtub, we took a shower with no troubles. Sink area is great, and clean. TV is a big Insignia, around 50 inches I think, has HBO, and other channels. Refrigerator and microwave are absolutely up to date, just like in other hotels, and the very night before that one, we did stay in a $150 motel WITHOUT refrigerator at all! A/c worked fine. Bed is fine too, clean sheets, the quilt did not smell like i read in other reviews, window area did not have dead bugs as well. The pillows were flat but it's okay for 1 night. Clean towels, not snow white due to their lifespan but freshly washed, it's all that matters. Also, room has a decent sitting area and more than enough space. Parking is in abundance, motel is located by the highway and gas station. Coffee in the morning is free, with cream and sugar. Yes it's not a top notch fancy place but they have everything you need for $60 flat.
I don't know why this place has some terrible reviews. I've stayed here several times and I have never had an issue with bugs, or cleanliness or rude staff. The staff has always been friendly enough, the room always clean and free of pests and any time I had an issue staff immediately resolved it (no major issues just one time something broke and I was concerned about being held responsible for it and another time the room was clean but some things had been left behind by a previous guest that was missed by house keeping). I have stayed in rooms for more money, in worse neighborhoods with crappy conditions, so this place is really great for the price you pay. It certainly isn't the Ritz, but it's a quality place if you are trying to be kind to your wallet, plus the beds are very comfortable and it's right off the expressway!
